Our wedding day was perfect. At first it seemed that there was some sort of hitch because there was a wedding before ours in which the civil official did not show up on time. Therefore, our wedding was delayed and we had to wait for theirs to finish. We could hear their violin music and it made some of the people in our party wish that we had arranged for it. However, the delay did not prove to be a major setback because we took some more pictures with the photographer while we were waiting. The photographer was very nice, although he did not speak very good Engligh. However, we liked him very much and we were still able to communicate despite the language difference. The ceremony itself was absolutely wonderful. Certaldo is the perfect small town to get married in and we had a fairytale wedding. Amy was overjoyed with her perfect day. The civil official was very charismatic and the wedding vows turned out to be more meaningful than we could have imagined. [Is it possible for us to obtain a transcript of the ceremony or the wedding vows? The civil official seemed to be reading from a script so I assume that it is available somewhere?] The wedding was simple and directly to the point. It was just what we had hoped for.Afterwards there was a slight time gap between the wedding and the ceremony. I had wondered if it would have been better to schedule the reception closer to the time when the wedding ceremony ended, but I am not sure that the restaurant would have even been open at that time. However, we had some drinks at the cafe and then walked around the town a bit to take pictures. The extra time turned out to be nice just to experience the town of Certaldo. The reception was everything we could have hoped for. At first, I had wondered about the expensive cost of the restaurant ($95 euros per person) because all of our other meals in Tuscany had been about 25 euros per person. However, after the dinner concluded I had no complaints whatsoever about the cost. It was absolutely worth it. It was the best dinner Amy and I had had in our lives. The service was fabulous. We loved the different courses and how we had time between each course to relax and drink wine. We actually brought our own wine to the recpetion and that worked out perfectly for us because we were able to save a bit of money on that. The view from the terrace on at the restaurant was stunning! Also, the wedding cake was the most beautiful wedding cake that we had ever seen decorated with flowers and fruit.Afterwards Amy and I stayed in an aprartment called La Guilia or something like that. It was a charming little apartment that we found the previous day when we went to Certaldo to drop off the documents. We realized that wewanted to stay there that night and we went to the local hotel, who although not completely full, advised us that another wedding party was staying there that night and that we might want to check out an apartment owned by hisfriend. It was perfect! Amy loved it. Previously, I was a little irritated that we had to drive there to drop off the documents ourselves, but it worked out perfectly because we were able to check with the restaurant to see if we could bring our own wine and we were able to find the lovely apartment. All in all, the wedding went perfectly and Amy and I were more satisfied than we could have imagined. You did a wonderful job of planning the wedding by answering our numerous e-mails and providing us with many different options. We would sincerely like to thank you for the great job that you did.Dan & Amy
