Just a few steps from the impressive St Mark's Square, this is one of Venice most charming and refined palaces. With its warm and friendly atmosphere, this former 17th Century palace offers elegant surroundings steeped in history.
Major upgrading and expansion of this landmark canal-side hotel have resulted in a blend of Venetian elegance and contemporary design. The centerpiece of the restored original section is the convivial waterfront restaurant. A big, bright reception area, created by roofing an inner courtyard with glass, leads to the new rear section, which was once the Sala del Teatro Ridotto, a luxurious 17th-century gaming room, where Casanova was a habitué.
The main salone and the private rooms that radiate from it are a glory of apricot, white and grey stucco above a magnificent terrazzo floor. It's almost worth staying here just to spend time in the sumptuous lounge with adjoining bar.
