East of Venice, protected by beautiful beaches and the northern Alps: a treasure land with romantic hamlets, villas, and dreamy castles.
Lonely Planet added Friuli-Venezia Giulia in the list of the ten best wine regions in the world. Among the reasons cited on Lonely Planet's article, undiscovered no touristy towns and villages, the best Italian white wines, the cultural mix with the nearest countries, the proximity of wonderful beaches and scenic mountains, the flavor of a Venetian heritage and the classy of an imperial city such as Trieste, are all worth a purpose to consider this region a perfect wedding location.
We planned fabulous weddings in Friuli: the most charming villas, extraordinary castles, including the only Italian castle with sea views, romantic hill towns and special farmhouses. Friuli-Venezia Giulia is one of the most welcoming areas in Italy and when planning a wedding, you take advantage of the great position at only an hour from Venice. The city of Udine, the main center of Friuli, is centrally located at forty minutes to the sea and the same distance to the mountains making a perfect place to discover the whole surroundings. Trieste is a jewel with the largest square (Piazza Unità) in Europe by the sea.
Anywhere you choose to get married in Friuli. Your wedding will be blessed by an authenticity and a no touristy atmosphere that you and your guests will remember forever. Either you choose the crowded beaches of Grado and Lignano, the charming cities of Udine or Gorizia, the romantic medieval villages of Spilimbergo or San Daniele del Friuli, the wine town of Cormons, the Longobards ancient capital of Cividale del Friuli, the second ancient city of the Roman Empire of Aquileia or any of the World Heritage sites, you will be fully satisfied as there is no better place for a real wedding in Italy where tourists have not yet modified the attitude of place.
