Wedding Perfect in the age of COVID
If you are looking for magic to happen, look no further than Helga and her team at WeddingItaly. We started our wedding planning with the idea of a Tuscan wedding but the fine details we didn’t know where to start. Helga made it graciously easier. From Skype meetings, multiple days of site visits, meeting with all the suppliers and food tastings, Helga made us certain we were in good hands. Once the decisions were made and the waiting game began COVID hit and put all our dreams and plans into a frenzied chaos of what ifs and doubts. Helga remained calm and kept in constant contact with us about the changing rules and was attentive to what our concerns and dreams were in the ever changing environment. We ultimately had to delay the wedding a year and Helga smoothly and successfully rescheduled our wedding, venue and suppliers to the following year which was a miracle in and of itself. When the wedding finally took place we couldn’t have been more impressed with everyone involved. Villa Grabau was immaculate! We stayed on the grounds of Villa Grabau and L’Arancera for a week with 45 guests. Helga arranged bus rentals for daily excursions for our guests, all of which were on time, clean, efficient and so comfortable. The guests appreciated having this option so the stress of planning where to go and travel accommodations was taken care of and they could enjoy a new city each day before the wedding. Helga arranged a fabulous wine tasting welcome event when guests arrived on check-in day with Sommelier Riccardo who was just fantastic. His choice in wines and knowledge made for such a great evening. The official welcome dinner catered by Bocco e Buccia was beautiful with a diverse perfectly balanced selection of Salumi, formaggi and, being a fall wedding, a most delicious “Frantoiana Lucchese” soup. The paired wine selections were equally delightful and the staff was so nice and attentive. The wedding day itself was absolutely magic. Nothing could have been better. The staff arrived early and began setting up and only required the slightest finalizing of questions to make for a perfect, calm day for us to get ready. Catering was provided by Galateo with flowers and candles by Florum and the décor could not have been more perfect. The room was set like a magical royal hall. The perfect and last-minute addition of heaters only added to the ambience and elegance of the space. The ceremony was timed perfectly for the day, the quartet provided by Kayledo played our chosen titles to perfection with outstanding timing. The music continued with an upbeat tempo that made for a lively cocktail hour. The food all around was divine! Every guest still speaks praise of how perfect every dish was, how vibrant the flavours were, how well each dish complimented the next and how the main meat and fish courses were cooked to perfection. The bartenders were on point with charm and quick wit for whipping up everyone’s favourite cocktail and coming up with fresh ideas on the spot. The gelato van selections were creamy and delicious even on a cool fall night and nothing surpassed watching the creation of and eating of the Millefoglie wedding cake! Such a uniquely fun and inviting touch to have the chefs prepare the cake in front of everyone and the taste was decadent and smooth and new. Galateo blew all of our expectations away with the service they provided. Music and dance floor lighting provided by Kayledo was equally stunning, exciting, romantic and festive. The surround sound filled the room with just the perfect feeling for a night of dancing. Despite all the hardships and uncertainties of planning a wedding complicated by COVID there really is nothing that could have made this more magical.
