When thinking of a wedding in the Veneto region, one can’t help getting the image Venice in its mind: a wedding in Venice will present you with the unique opportunity of discovering an enchanting and fascinating magic, impregnated with history and charm. Once upon a time there was a land on the shores of the Adriatic sea, so inhospitable to men, that it ended up being the perfect barrier to hide from the Barbarian tribes conquering the Italian northeastern territories.
These brave men and women reached by boat the first small island, nowadays called “Torcello”, and built there the first settlement which would afterwards be called “Venice”. It was the 7th century and they would never have imagined they were giving birth to one of the biggest miracles of mankind: the city of Venice, rising from the lagoon, main destination wedding location in Italy. Venice is a miracle. A miracle built on a bed of wooden pylons driven into the ground. Over time these tree trunks have petrified and have created a bed of rock for churches and buildings. The New York time once wrote “undoubtedly the most beautiful city built by man”.
We have planned our first-ever wedding in Venice in 1999 and, from that time on, we have gained a very long and deep experience in handling events of all kinds: from small eloping to large weddings with more than 350 guests. We are among the most experienced wedding planners arranging destination weddings in Venice.
There is often a misunderstanding that leads to identify the city of Venice with the whole region Veneto: the region itself can offer several amazing venues for a destination wedding in Veneto.
Small villages and romantic towns such as Treviso, Verona, Mira, Cortina d’Ampezzo, Padua, Vicenza and many others are the perfect destination to escape from the main city and the lagoon and meet a very intense and typically Italian culture whose heritage comes from the ancient times, when the whole area was part of Venice Republic: this all will provide you with a unique setting for your wedding in Veneto region!
The mainland area of Venice is rich of incredibly beautiful and romantic Venetian villas, ancient churches and charming palaces. Many rich families during medieval and Renaissance times used to build their houses on mainland and nowadays the region offers incredible venues for your wedding in Italy.
